All women agree that the best thing is taking their bras off their chests as soon as they get home after a long day. But do bras really make them so uncomfortable? How to choose the right bra? Or is it because they are wearing a bad fitting bra that they want to take off their bras immediately? A study from Nudea, a bra band based in the United Kingdom, proved that there were only 10% of 600 British women in the UK measured the correct bust sizes for themselves. Meanwhile, the other 79% of them were wearing the wrong cup size and band size for their breasts.
The bras you bought may be expensive and from a popular brand. But, whenever you wear it, it just doesn’t fit right. This can be an indication that you are not wearing the right bra. It’s either because of the wrong size or because you just don’t know your breast shape and which bras work best for you. Even more, maybe some of you didn’t even realize that you’ve been wearing an ill-fitting bra.
Approximately 50% of women who took the survey admitted that they had not measured for a bra for over 5 years.
Apart from sacrificing comfort, wearing the wrong bra can cause several problems which you may never think of. The most common one is pain in the upper part of your body such as your breasts, neck and shoulder, and your back. This may happen if your breasts do not receive the support they need from wearing a bra. Skin problems such as abrasion or chafing are also one of the consequences of wearing the wrong bra. Next, is boobs sagging. Yes, your boobs will sag as you age but premature sagging should be prevented at all costs. Therefore, wearing the right bra is important if you wanna avoid any of these problems.
Now, here are the 5 signs that you should look into if you wanna know that you’re wearing the bra!
Gap Between The Bra Cups and Your Breasts
The main purpose of a bra is to fully support your breasts against gravity and avoid unnecessary pain to your body. If you find that your breasts are slipping out beneath your cups, you should not continue wearing them. This is because the bra is too loose to be a support device for your breasts which can cause your breasts to sag even more. Besides, your cups should be flush with the breasts so they can achieve the purpose of holding the weight of your boobs. Try to downsize your bra cup for a perfect-fit bra or go for a padded bra so that it can fully embrace your breasts. Then you can say bye to that annoying space between your cups and your breasts.
Your Busts Spill Out

Do your breasts look ‘lumpy’ when you’re wearing your bra? This is known as the extra ‘bulge’ or a ‘double boob’. When your cups do not fully enclose your breasts, it is not healthy for your boobs just as much as you feel irritated about it. This is a sign that the bra cups run too small for you and you can consider going up a size. The rule here is that there should be a smooth transition curve along your boobs and the cups’ outer line. Some women may think that buying a smaller cup size makes your breasts look fuller. But the fact is that it actually does not do them any good other than blocking your lymph nodes and causing bad blood circulation.
Your Boobs Are Not Fully Embraced

The bottom of the cups should stick to your boobs, not leaving any space in between. If you find your bra is too loose even on the tightest hook, the bra is pretty much non-functional as the band isn’t supporting your breast directly. This usually happens when you’re wearing a bra bigger than your breast size. The solution is, of course, to find a bra with a smaller band size.
Your Bra Doesn't Fit Even on the Tightest Hook

When you’re looking for a bra, the furthest hook should be where you feel the most comfortable. The middle and innermost hooks are for when your bra starts to stretch out after a few washes, which helps your bra last longer and still gives you maximum support. You should only discard and get a new bra when it is completely loose even on the tightest hook. Besides, it is cost-saving as well since you don’t need to replace your bra so often.
You Constantly Readjust Your Bras
