A Guide: What to Look for In a Bra for Shallow Breasts

If you have shallow breasts, it can be really difficult for you to find a good bra for yourself, especially when the bras in the market are catered to the more common breast shapes. It can be so easy for us to accidentally buy a bra one size bigger or smaller from our actual breast size, or a band too loose or too tight for ourselves. However, we believe that with the right guide, it will make it easier for you to look for the right bra. Read on to find out how!

Important Things To Look For In A Bra For Shallow Breasts

When looking for bras for shallow breasts, make sure they fully embrace your breast tissues, neither too tight or having empty space within the cup. These are the important things to remember when choosing a bra for shallow breasts:

  • The top edge of the bra cups is not curved inwards the body, as in they are more open so they won’t cut across your breast tissue.

  • The top edge of the bra cups are close to the horizontal.

  • The cups should only have vertical seams and no horizontal ones, because shallow breasts have a wider area and less projection, they need vertical seam so they can “direct†your shallow breasts to “go up†instead of “go outâ€.

Best Bras To Wear For Shallow Breasts

Demi-cup/ Half cup Bra

Demi cups usually cover two-thirds of the breast, sometimes only half of the breasts, so you will avoid the problems where your breasts can’t fill in the top of your bra cups.

Balconette Bra

They provide maximum support with minimum coverage, meaning you don’t have to worry about the edge of the cups cutting into your breast tissue. However, balconettes will not work for women who have shallow breasts but a larger cup size, as you may encounter bra spillage in this case.

They are great in helping in contouring your breasts and make them appear fuller while looking natural.
