Bras in the Pandemic

When we were going out and about, bras were in a way inevitable and we were all confined to our clothy chest chambers.

Every 13th of October, women around the world celebrate the liberation of their breasts with No Bra Day. However, ever since the pandemic, women everywhere have given up wearing bras and a new movement, #freethenipple movement is now trending.

Some women say…

A woman, who goes by the nickname Bookworm Banker, used to be very particular about her bras. However since the pandemic hit, she has been going braless, wearing the occasional lounge bra if support is needed, and only wearing a regular bra when she needs to go for an official meeting. She calls back to an iconic 1968 moment when women threw their high heels, lipstick and bras into ‘Freedom Trash Cans’.

Aparna Pande, on the other hand, never touches a bra at home. This public reigns professional and certified nutritionist and professional trainer only wears sports bras when hitting the gym, but at home the bra is nowhere to be seen. She also propounds the notion of comfort over beauty, and has given the green light to sleeping without a bra and is suggesting to not wear bras in the winter.

Final thoughts

With the pandemic in tow, a lot of women are challenging the mindset that women need to wear a bra, and it’s only a matter of time before the women of the world go back to the braless age.
