Is It That Important to Wear a Bra?

Bras have undeniably become part of women’s daily lives . We’ve been told by our parents that when our breasts start to grow, we will need to wear bras. But many of us do not know the exact reasons, and the importance behind wearing a bra because they do more than just supporting our breasts. Is it important to wear a bra? Why? Let’s take a look.

Support

It has always been the main purpose since the invention of the bra — to give support to your breasts. They don’t only hold up your boobs in the cups, but they make sure you don’t have back, neck or shoulder pain that the group of tissues around your chest will give you. It is more crucial to wear a bra to those who have larger breasts because you don’t want to feel like you’re carrying additional weight in front of you.

Reduce Sagging

Bras cannot fully prevent your breasts from sagging, because as you age, your skin will lose its elasticity so it is normal for your breasts to sag as you grow older. However, wearing a bra can help reduce your breasts from sagging to a certain extent. The bra will support your breasts’ weight against gravity and to prevent damage to your breast tissues, especially when you’re exercising and there is rapid movement of breasts, which will stretch over time if you don’t wear a proper bra.

Comfort While Exercising

Breasts are made up of fatty tissue, connective tissue and glandular tissue. This group of tissue will put a certain amount of weight on your body. That’s why they bounce when you exercise and can cause pain. Wearing a sports bra can help to alleviate pain by compressing the breasts which reduces  movements and bounces of the breasts.

We all want to look good, and bras are here to help us with that! Many women nowadays are not happy with how they look, especially with their breasts. For this reason, many of them choose to go for cosmetic surgery, breast enlargement or reduction because they want to look “perfect”; and at many times, these beauty procedures are pretty unnecessary, unless for health reasons.  (Related: Why Breast Minimizing Surgery Is Unnecessary (Unless Health Is Concerned)

Wearing the right bra can actually help you achieve the look you desire. A smooth look with deeper cleavage? A plunge bra could help. A bare minimum but fashionable look? A bralette with a blazer will make you look like you are preparing to walk on a fashion show runway. Maximum comfort? A T-shirt bra makes sure you get the support you need while feeling braless. There are a wide range of bras available in the market depending how you want to style yourself. It’s limitless!

Confidence is when you feel good about yourself and comfortable in your skin. It is true that what you wear portrays who you are and has a significant impact on how you carry yourself around people. A well-fitted bra helps you maintain a good posture for your breasts, which in turn gives us an instant boost on our self confidence. It may be subtle, but a bra that fully embraces your natural breast shape reassures you that you are beautiful the way you are.

We always encourage women to wear a bra because we believe there are tons of benefits bras could give you, but going braless once in a while is not a bad idea! Just make sure your breasts get the support they need. We welcome you to follow our Instagram or Pinterest if you wish to read more of these interesting articles!
